Heritage Talks: Crime and Corruption
From corrupt police commissioners to explosive royal commissions, Queensland’s past is steeped in stories of power, silence, and eventual reckoning. Our first Heritage Talk of the year considers the stories of crime and corruption that have shaped our state, for better or worse.
Matthew Condon and Hedley Thomas, two of Australia’s leading investigative journalists, will delve into the darker side of Queensland history, and the role of investigative journalism in bringing it to light.
Following the talk, enjoy a hands-on experience with a curated selection of original materials from State Library collections in the Marica Sourris and James C. Sourris AM White Gloves Room.
